Thinking About Quitting Your Job?

public.jpeg

There is a massive amount of people quitting their day jobs to become full-time entrepreneurs. Recent studies have said its mostly women; minority women in particular. Also moms are feeling the pull to stay home to focus on being there for their small children. I see the reason why they want to quit but many are not prepared for what this life is like or what they will encounter out here. I think I had a bit of an upper hand given that I worked in finance and budgeting for a multi-million dollar producing small business. That view point gave me a realization that consistent income has to be flowing LONG before I quit. So here is what I want to share:

As a full-time entrepreneur I’ve realized a few things :

✨ Full-time entrepreneurship should not be the goal....the goal should be Gods Will.

✨ Peace, Purpose and Provision flows from being in His Will ⁣

✨ Don’t quit your day job to be cool or before it’s time. Wait until He says go...and you will never feel the lack of provision ⁣

✨ This is work! A ton of it that never shows up on the gram and it’s not always pretty or expected ⁣

✨If you love your job...stay there and have a side hustle instead!⁣

✨ Don’t try to be flashy...SAVE those coins! Stash it away for days when those invoices are waiting to be paid ⁣

✨Manage your money or your money will manage you! Aka: Get friendly with budgeting It is your best friend⁣

⁣But everyday I wake up grateful to own my time. I dreamed of days like this but more importantly I dreamed of being in HIS Will perfectly. I know exactly what I’m suppose to be doing in this season. That clarity is KEY and has saved me from distractions and discouragement! Take away: Get clarity! FYI: if you want to learn what I do click on the link in my profile bio

Blessings! 😘

My Favorite “Get-Well” Tradition

public.jpeg

#Ad Cold season is upon us and as the weather gets colder I’ve learned to stock up my medicine closet because the worst thing is needing something right then just to realize you’re out. That’s why my medicine closet will include my favorite cough drop brand HALLS. The Honey Lemon flavor cough drops are my favorite!⁣⁣

⁣⁣

My favorite “Get-Well Tradition” is making a fruit and tea platter while catching up on a good movie. I know when my body says slow down, but this time of year is busy, so I take a moment, then get back to it! When the cough is rough and mom life keeps going, I get my HALLS cough drops to make sure I’m not missing a beat.⁣⁣

This season whether you’re traveling or running around this season, a cough or sore throat can strike without warning. When you have HALLS cough drops on hand, you’re always prepared for relief. Being prepared as mom is a MUST! So be prepared for whatever life throws, or coughs, your way! @Get_Halls #ThisCallsForHalls

My Heart Is Heavy…

Something is weighing very heavy on my heart to share. At this point in my life, as a Christian, African American woman, wife, mom, US Citizen, business owner, blogger/content creator, grad student. I’ve taken most of this year evolving, observing, learning, being quiet, focusing on family and marriage. Letting a few projects simmer that I’m working on. There is no rush or race. The longer they simmer the better they will taste😌. I digress.....

I’ve finally come to a point that I’m ready to share a few things. I’m still processing...still evolving..still growing....I’ll be sharing this on my IGTV channel this week...but it’s not an answer, it’s an observation, a heaviness, a concern. It is my hope to begin to share a part of me I’ve never really shared openly, well...I’ve shared it but quietly and quickly. Out of fear of being misunderstood. I’m not perfect and have made MANY mistakes and that has held me down for FAR too long...but the thing about freedom and grace...🙌🏾 whew!

At my age...it’s time to embrace the hard things. When I became a Dallas CASA member and went through training and now working a case.. God continually tells me “Bridgette, you can do hard things.” What He was telling me is that He was assigning me to a few areas that were not easy to tackle and with HIM...I can do hard things. CASA was just the beginning....and with a bit of nervousness and some excitement I’m ready. Not I think, not I’m afraid....I’ve dealt with those emotion. Now. I’m ready.

An Eye-Opening Look Into The Diaper Need in The U.S.

Thank you Huggies® for sponsoring this post. All opinions expressed and photos herein are my own.

As a mom of two small children, one of which is still in diapers, I can’t imagine having my life revolve around having or not having diapers. It does sort of, but never in the frame of not having them readily available at home or at the store when I needed them. When I learned recently that 1-in-3 U.S. families struggle to provide enough diapers for their babies, my eyes were opened! It doesn’t end there. Out of those that struggle to provide diapers, 3-in-5 report missing work because they were unable to provide enough diapers for daycare. Completely shocked! You never know what your neighbor is going through which is why we must all be kind to each other.

Huggies® is spreading that kindness through action this September. This September, with every Huggies purchase made at Walmart, Huggies will donate two days’ worth of diapers, up to 1,000,000 diapers, to the National Diaper Bank Network to help families in need. My heart cries at the thought of these babies needing such a basic need right here in America. I’m just thankful for brands stepping up to make a change and really BE the change we wish to see in the world.

If you can’t make it in person to go shopping this weekend, you can also purchase online by going here. It’s a great day to give back. Your heart will feel great knowing you helped a family in need.
