I have always loved being outdoors and have a deep appreciation for nature. When I finally had a family of my own, one of the things that I looked forward to the most was starting a garden. Last year, I had the opportunity to start my first garden on Earth Day. Since then, Earth Day has become a holiday for us in which we really enjoy sharing with the kids. In the spirit of Earth day, since I know moms read this blog, I want to share with you three Earth Day inspired cleaning tips that could help the environment:
Choose to recycle cleaning products when empty. Most cleaning products come in recyclable containers. Our garbage can easily become the repository for all household items, so it’s important to remember to recycle when possible.
Use cleaning supplies like Art of Green. Not only are the containers 100% recycled material, but the product is also safe for sensitive skin. It is also a USDA-certified bio-based product. For the win! Just think about how you can teach your kids this lesson in relation to Earth Day. I’m always looking for teachable moments and since I clean a lot, this is a great one.
Find ways to use the same product to clean multiple things. Instead of buying a ton of different products, I recommend Art of Green multi-surface cleaner. I like it because it works wonders on many different areas in the home and is tough on grease and grime. Also, as I stated earlier it is safe on sensitive skins so if you have kids running around you can feel more confident knowing it is not harsh like the other brands. This also includes pets as well. I have always believed that we should share our tips and things that we learn as moms.
Earth Day is a great way to do that when it comes to cleaning supplies and getting your kids involved in helping the environment. I was watching a documentary the other day about our planet and being environmentally friendly and one thing they mentioned is how it is way too much for one person to deal with but if we all collectively came together and just did our small part, it would make a huge difference. I hope this blog inspired you to change the products you are using and to embrace an environmentally-friendly product that is also safe around kids and pets.
