My Top Five Spring Cleaning Secrets For Busy Moms

This blog is sponsored by Art of Green but all opinions are my own.

Spring is here! After that really rough few weeks here in Texas with the weird cold freeze that we haven’t seen in decades, it feels good to walk out of the house and smell Spring time brewing. That also gets me in the cleaning-mood. Anyone else has a burst of cleaning energy when Springtime hits. I do every time when I wake up and the sun is shining and as I drop off my kids and the weather is warmer. Sounds cheesy, I know but it is so true. I’m a summer gal but Spring gets me excited for my summer fun. I wanted to share my top five spring cleaning secrets for busy moms today because as you know, our time is VERY limited. I love getting tips from other moms so here are a few of my own!

  1. I tend to get caught up in one assignment but if I am cleaning an area and I have in a rush, I put on a timer and tell myself to do as much as I can within that time period. That helps me stay focused and it sort of a fun game I do with myself.

  2. Always, always, always have a trash bag and donation bag handy nearby. I have found with a growing family, as I’m cleaning I always think, now when was the last time we used this. This can definitely go in the donation bag. It clears the area so quickly and I can do what I called “spot Spring cleaning”. It the smaller version of the huge Spring throw-out most of us do during this time.

  3. Throwaway overly used items. If you are like me, you like to get the most out of anything you buy or purchase. That is so me. I thoroughly enjoy using UP everything I get. Spring cleaning is a great time to look at it and say, the shoes are done, Bridgette. You’ve patched that hole up too many times...lol. I’m joking kinda, but not really. I have to be honest with myself or I will become that hoarder lady on television.

  4. Use environmentally friendly, cleaning supplies. My favorite is Art of Green. Listen, these wipes are magical. Not only are they biodegradable making it environmentally friendly, but they are tough on grease and grime. I would add they are tough on toddler messes as well. With two small kids around, wipes are everything. I love how natural these are as well as how tough they are on the messes. I don’t have to clean for very long and it’s a super easy clean-up by just throwing them in the trash. The spray is amazing as well and if you want to do double duty. Use the spray and then use the wipe as well. It works great by itself but I know some things need extra clean like my daughter’s car seat.

  5. Get the kids involved by allowing them to do a toy donation bin. I get my little ones up and we chose which toys we want to give away. Not only does this teach them giving but it also shows them how clean the area can be after they donate. We make room for toys that are more age-appropriate and laying a foundation for cleaning.

On one hand, I’m excited about Spring being here, on the other hand, I’m thinking has 3 months gone by already. Where has the time gone? So as you’re cleaning your home, also remember that life is happening so fast. Take the time out for yourself and enjoy the project you just completed with an “I did that and took care of the environment in the process.” Enjoy mama! Rooting you on as always.
